Volare gains partner

Majid Ghavami has acquired a significant interest in Volare Italian Restaurant and has assumed the position of president and general manager, Volare partner Paul Perconti announced. Wine dinner at Napa River Grill

The Napa River Grill will have a wine pairing dinner Tuesday, Feb. 21, hosted by Napa Valley wine producers Michael Havens and George Hendry. The dinner includes five courses of creative California cuisine paired with wines from Havens Cellars and Hendry Ranch. Chefs collaborate  to help Kosair

Eight Louisville chefs will spend an evening cooking together next Saturday, Feb. 25, to raise money for the Kosair Children’s Hospital Cancer Care and Renal Center during the seventh annual “Evening with the Great Chefs.” They will be joined by Franck Deletrain, executive chef at New York’s Café Centro. The event features a seven-course meal with wine and a silent auction. This year’s chefs are event founder Jeff Jarfi of Jarfi’s Bistro and Catering; Peng Looi of August Moon and Asiatique; Chris Elseser and Reed Johnson of Jarfi’s Bistro; Jim Gerhardt and Michael Cunha of Limestone; Anoosh Shariat of Park Place; and Joe Castro of The English Grill. The event will be held in conjunction with the Children’s Hospital Foundation at The Kentucky Center. The reception and silent auction begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 8. Tickets are $200.
