The Endtables at SXSW

B-Sides: Music & Other Ephemera

The Endtables will perform live for the first time in 30 years on March 18 at Barbarella, as part of the 25th annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin. One of Louisville’s earliest punk bands, their material was out of print and highly sought after before Drag City issued a retrospective last year. The vinyl and CD have now sold out; only downloads are available.

‘Both Hands’ now
Workers test-drive songs from their forthcoming album Both Hands on Saturday, Jan. 22, at Headliners Music Hall (1386 Lexington Road, 584-8088). The band recorded the follow-up to their self-titled, quasi-debut with Erik Wofford (The Black Angels, Maserati) and The Funeral Home in Louisville. Second Story Man and Seluah will join in the fun. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $8. Check out www.weareworkers.com.

‘Youth and Lightness’
Young Widows’ newest, In and Out of Youth and Lightness, arrives April 12 from Temporary Residence; Stereogum released the first single, “Future Heart,” for download on its website last week. Go to www.youngwidows.net.
