There is an almost drone-like quality to the repetitive nature of Motorbike that recalls the very best of AC/DC or early Alice Cooper. Aon features big guitars and simple chord structures that undeniably pay homage to Ron Asheton of the Stooges you can even hear a cover of I Wanna Be Your Dog here for good measure. There is a weird urgency, built more on atmosphere than on tempo, that balances an almost-manic anxiety with a mellower groove. Its that space that Aon works in so well, between entirely cutting loose and that careful restraint that drives his songs.
