Sure, I didn’t like Marc’s first album, but good music is undeniable. He has a strong ear for beats and is a pretty fair writer. Over Thinking’s construction is solid. There are a lot of Louisville emcees who would do themselves a great service looking to emulate the quality control here. I’d gladly purchase the instrumentals to this. Sadly, and again, the key flaw lies in his vocals. I can only imagine the mail this will generate, but Adams has one of the single worst rap voices these ears have ever heard. His nasal, petulant delivery makes the record an aural 5K, all uphill. A good ear, nose and throat doctor could make him a jewel in the local scene. As it is, Adams would best serve as a background player, overseeing quality on other people’s projects.
