Decca, 812 E. Market St., 749-8128, deccarestaurant.com. This popular spot is one of the hottest new tickets in town. Decca’s creative and interesting menu of well-crafted California Mediterranean cuisine channels the soul of San Francisco with no pretense. (Reviewed 4/4/12)

THE GRAPE LEAF, 2217 Frankfort Ave., 897-1774, grapeleafonline.com. This popular spot in Clifton combines a comfortable setting with one of the more attractive patios in the neighborhood. If you’re in the mood for Greek, you’ll find it here; ditto for most of the familiar favorites of Middle Eastern cuisine. (Reviewed 4/11/12)

SOORA KOREAN CUISINE,
2840 Goose Creek Road,
339-5888. Korean cuisine might just be the next big thing in the Metro, and those of us who enjoy this robust, often spicy Asian fare aren’t complaining. The new Soora offers a good selection of Korean standards in tidy surroundings. (Reviewed 4/11/12)

Rye, 900 E. Market St., 749-6200, ryeonmarket.com. This in-spot in NuLu is an adaptive remake of the old Hausman Jeep Eagle building with its bar and dining room sporting stylish, minimalist industrial-chic décor. Taking good advantage of local and regional meats and produce, chef William Tyler Morris puts together a bill of fare that changes almost daily. (Reviewed 5/2/12)

Bombay Grill, 216 N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., 425-8892, bombaygrillky.com. Bombay Grill earns our applause for opening its affordable menu to the full range of Indian regional cuisines, offering samples of all those flavors from just about every corner of the subcontinent. You can sample a broad selection on the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet offered daily. (Reviewed 5/9/12)

La Coop-Bistro à Vins, 732 E. Market St., 410-2888, coopbistro.com. La Coop, the newest inhabitant in the Green Building, captures an authentic French bistro spirit in a nicely redone venue that makes us feel as if we’re dining in Paris. We found the mood, the food from former Oakroom chef Bobby Benjamin’s kitchen, and the service all outstanding during a recent evening meal. (Reviewed 5/16/12)
