COTTAGE INN, 570 Eastern Pkwy., 637-4325. Serving up simple, affordable down-home fare since 1929, the Cottage Inn is one of Louisville’s oldest eateries in continuous operation. It offers easy-on-the-wallet fare that invites frequent return visits. (Reviewed 5/14/08; Rating: 90)


MARKET STREET FISH HOUSE, 133 E. Market St., New Albany, (812) 590-3377. The Market Street Fish House makes a worthy addition to the Metro’s seafood dining scene. LAS GORDITAS, 4756 Bardstown Rd., 492-0112. The Las Gorditas taco stand rolls into the parking lot at Eastland Shopping Center (where Buechel meets Fern Creek on Bardstown Road) just about every weekend evening. There’s almost always a crowd, and it’s usually a happy mix of Latino and Anglo diners, united in shared enjoyment of really good Mexican food. (Reviewed 5/28/08; Rating: N/A)


MACCA’S FLORIDA SEAFOOD GRILL & BAR, 1315 Herr Ln., 618-2770, www.maccasgrill.com. Macca’s holds down a prime spot in the Westport Village center. LE RELAIS, Bowman Field, 2817 Taylorsville Rd., 451-9020, www.lerelaisrestaurant.com. Some French restaurants may be pretentious, but Le Relais is simply elegant.
